Hunting History evening at Melton Carnegie Museum Community room: Michael Clayton and Sir William Jaffray (grandson of Otho Paget) will describe the republication by Methuen (with new photos) of Paget's "Memories of the Shires" - hunting in the Shires in late Victorian and Edwardian England. Paget was hunting correspondant of the Field under the pseudonym 'Q' and also one of the four riders who completed the Melton Midnight Steeplechase in 1890. Admission is free but there is limited capacity, so please advise the Museum beforehand on 01664 3053860 or meltonmuseum@leics.gov.uk (or Michael Clayton on 01572 747022 or m.a.clayton@btinternet.com) if you wish to attend. Copies of an updated edition of "Memories of the Shires" will be available; £5 per copy goes to the CA’s Repeal of Hunting Act campaign
If you cannot make this event, there are other opportunities to hear Will Jaffray's talk: at Imperial College, 170 Queen’s Gate, London SW7 on Wednesday 21 November 2012: 4.30p.m. and Thursday 29 November 2012: 12.30p.m. A donation of £5 to the CA's 'Repeal' fund will be made for each book sold there.
